Shibori

Here are a few examples of shibori hand dying, which involves either dipping, tying or resisting fabrics in some way so that patterns are created. I prefer the look of pleated varieties, but have also on occasion done what is more commonly referred to as tie-dyed. There can be some control over the process used and the selection of colors that mix and flow, but the results are usually somewhat of a pleasant surprise. Here are sets of examples for each.
